The B&R’ offers a boutique club experience with excellent service, fitness & wellness, an active social calendar and a passion for racquet sports in tennis, squash, platform tennis and badminton.
History
Established in 1924.
History lies in many corners. Hidden beneath the Members’ Lounge and Trophy Room are the original singles and doubles squash courts (the original wooden floor can be seen in the Backcourt). The original streetcar turntable still lies in the dark sub-basement beneath the badminton courts. A dining room became a dance studio and the original upstairs lounge transformed into The Bistro and Blackstock Room. Empty “marshalling yards” became tennis courts and storage space turned into platform tennis courts. Ingenuity has never been lacking at the B&R.
